I was also a bit confused over some of the background story, and I didn’t care for the final chapter. Foley, a messenger from a nearby village, comes asking the Zophas for help. John Kendrick Bangs was one of the most popular humorists in the 1890's. All in all, I wasn't moved to feel any emotion at this end, other than to wonder why so many things were left to imagination.Rating: All in all, I felt this story was not representative of VD's work in general. After reading The bear who loved me I was so excited to jump back into this series ,so when I got a chance to read this book I was thrilled and I got into the story as soon as I could. Mark is going feral which to my understanding basically means that bear inside of him is dominating over the man. He is vain, too - recording every compliment made to him and every "stormy applause" for his speeches. She can match him on baseball statistics and physically sets him on fire. It was like reading two stories in one. I don't know why I didn't appreciate the book for what it is then, but I certainly do now. Sevenths, ninths, elevenths, thirteens, straight, broken, from one to three octaves in virtually any mode played--this is the book that puts the knowledge in your grasp. Then a villager from a faraway village comes asking for help. Great read, and I definitely recommend it to anyone interested in great and efficient ways to become more Paperless.. I am missing several pagesNo one who works in colored pencil—or wants to—can afford to be without this book, which is the most complete resource on the medium.
