This book is a very enjoyable read, and I would put it up there amongst the best Montalbano stories, alongside such gems as “The Terracotta Dog”, “The Potter’s Field”, and “The Dance of the Seagull”.There has been an enjoyable formula for these books: Montalbano’s quirky personality; the interplay between him and his team; lots of humour; and the occasional critical social comment from Camilleri’s left-leaning perspective. I recommend this book to anyone who is working in a church, a mission, a nonprofit charity, or in any way trying to help someone else out of poverty. Sorry, but for a "learn to read" book, I want my kids to be learning proper grammar, correct punctuation and maybe some actual facts about sharks as well.. Joel does a fine job with Peter, giving the background, views on authorship and even the context of Peter's reason for writing the letter.
