Even the rampant gossip in Mitford is the good kind: folks worrying about other folks and everyone minding one another's business out of concern rather than malice. Often the crises are cause for a belly laugh, such as the rectory's new computer system that seems programmed to torment. The recently married Father Tim and his plain-folk neighbors live the best of Christianity in everyday life. --Gail Hudson. As a result, no one faces a crisis alone. The heavily quoted scripture gives a day-to-day context for biblical teachings as well as spiritual solace during the sadder days at Mitford. The village of Mitford is soothing tonic for a readership that feels starved for community and yearns for clear morals. But just as often the crises have the bite of real-life problems, such as the bloody young girl in shredded clothes, whom Father Tim finds after she was beaten by her drunken father, and the soul-wrenching despair Father Tim feelNow, of course, they must face love's challenges: new sleeping arrangements for Father Tim's sofa-sized dog, Cynthia's urge to decorate the rectory Italian-villa-style, and the growing pains of the thrown-away boy who's become like a son to the rector. At last, Mitford's rector and lifelong bachelor, Father Tim, has married his talented and vivacious neighbor, Cynthia. Add a life-changing camping trip, the arrival of the town's first policewoman, and a new computer that requires the patience of a saint, and you know you're in for another engrossing visit to Mitford -- the little town that readers everywhere love to call home.. In These High, Green Hills we're once again in Mitford, a southern village of local characters so heartwarming and hilarious you'll wish you lived right next doorAnyone who enjoys creating playlists will want to make one of their favorite disco hits and having this book to read for accompaniment will be the perfect fit. Would recommend to all those interested.. There is plenty of information in the pages, but it's all in block paragraphs that run together. Then there is William "Wild Bill" Wheatley. He see's what Aaron did to Stevie and tries to be there for her. They are best friends.Stevie has been in love with Aaron forever. I am and always will be a feminist. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the contents of this review.**I'm torn on loving this book and being a tad confused. Not only does it condense the facts and remove the fluff, but it covers everything you need to know. They are: passion, discipline, selflessness, respect, perspective, courage, leadership, responsibility, resilience and imagination.Bill Bradley has demonstrated here that he is truly a man of the people. Generally, I feel this is a good tool and better than other language books I've used.. When my budget allows, I will gladly add Brett Markham's book to my collectionand I have high hopes for his new book as well!. The book focuses on a far
